Romeo’s sire Gaudi SSF was the first Totilas son to stand in the USA. Imported in January 2018 by Shooting Star Farm, he was bred by the Jansen family at Stable Joppe in The Netherlands. Gaudi has an exceptional pedigree: his dam is the elite preferent prestation mare Annabel by De Niro, who also produced the KWPN licensed stallions Bretton Woods and Chagall D&R. From this same damline comes the licensed stallion Four Legends KS. Gaudi’s sire Totilas needs little introduction; Totilas changed the world of dressage. He set record after record in quick-fire succession, and broke the world record three times – in 2009 at the European Championship with 90.75% in the freestyle class, in London with 92.3% and at the CHIO Aachen 2010 with 86.45% in the Grand Prix Special, where he was awarded the perfect score of 10.0 a total of 28 times. Within the space of only two years, this exceptional stallion won all the titles there are to win. No other dressage horse has ever electrified spectators in the way that Totilas did.
Romeo’s dam Hope of Tantris, ‘Talhia’ is out of the Trakehner mare Hallalujah Anyway, a seasoned and successful Dressage competitor loaded with athletic jumper heritage. Talhia is sired by the German imported Oldenburg Tantris who is by Traumdeuter and with the mare line of Rubina-Aktuell, which consistently appears in stallions within the top 10 WBFSH rankings for dressage including several from Blue Hors Stud. Tantris competed in FEI dressage well into his 20’s and is known around the US for his rideability and passing on feet with tough soles and good angles. Second damsire Abdullah will best be remembered for his 1984 Olympic performance in show jumping with his rider Conrad Homfeld. Their brilliant clear round in the Team Competition clinched the first team gold medal for the United States. They went on to win the Olympic silver medal in the individual competition.
Romeo is expected to reach 16’3 h. He is slated for a career in dressage.

Breeding Notes
Though still growing, Romeo has correct conformation, with a strong foundation, uphill build, and a strong topline. He has a high-set neck, good pillar of support, long sloping shoulders, steep-angled humerus, equal alignment between his ilium and femur sides, medium stifle placement, and very good alignment between his point of hip and the lumbosacral gap.
