Pegasus of Solstice is a 22-year-old black Trakehner mare standing 16.2hh, combining classical Trakehner refinement through sire Pajou with elite North American Thoroughbred bloodlines through her dam Dancing in the Sun xx. She is beautiful, elegant, and athletic, with a temperament that has proven gentle and considerate with children and beginners—taking good care of them and giving them confidence. She is highly people-oriented and seeks human connection.

Pajou was described at his stallion approval as “a black stallion of the elegant riding horse type with large frame, typey exterior and a very beautiful face with large eyes.” He descends from Avignon II, a son of the Thoroughbred mare Arcticonius xx—arguably the most influential Thoroughbred mare ever used in a German Warmblood breeding program. Avignon II was a full brother to Arogno, who left significant impact in the Trakehner breed. The Flaneur-Maharadscha sireline through Pajou transmits the trainable, amateur-appropriate temperament that defines Pegasus.

The dam Dancing in the Sun xx carries 14 verified Black-Type winners in four generations, including Northern Dancer (Kentucky Derby, Preakness), Ribot (undefeated, 2× Arc de Triomphe), Native Dancer (21-1-0, Preakness, Belmont), and Nearco (undefeated, Derby Italiano, Grand Prix de Paris). She carries seven crosses to St Simon xx, three to Phalaris xx, and three to Teddy xx. The dam herself completed 46 career starts before transitioning to a successful second career under saddle—a validation of constitutional durability that has transmitted to Pegasus and her offspring.

Constitutional soundness at 22 years with clean, dry joints and maintained muscling confirms the durability genetics from both her Trakehner sire line and her stakes-winning Thoroughbred dam line.
