Trakehner
TRAKEHNER ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA
EH Abendtanz / Suave xx / Unaccounted For xx
The foal’s sire, Elite and Premium black stallion Abendtanz was bred by Heinrich Behr, Buchholz. He was ranked in 2020 statistics as the most successful show jumper sire in the Trakehner breed and tops the ranking of the best dual-purpose stallions (meaning both the dressage and jumping indices are above 100, dressage 104, jumping 120). He is also a top sire regarding the breeding index of basic gaits based on mare inspections—his daughters produced indices above 120 in all three gaits. Abendtanz was approved in Neumünster as a premium stallion in 2009. He passed an excellent 70 day test, and in 2013, Abendtanz qualified for the Bundeschampionat for German Show Jumpers, an M-level class. That year, he also won the National Trakehner Show Jumping Championships.
Throughout his competition career, Abendtanz successfully show jumped up to 1.40 meter with wins in large youngster classes against the top of the German Hanoverian, Holsteiner and Oldenburg breeds. As a sire, Abendtanz is a force to be reckoned with. Right from the get-go, he produced auction foals and Premium daughters with excellent under-saddle performance tests. To date, he has sired four approved sons: Gorbatchow, Donauabend, Lebenstraum, and last but not least, the incredible Sweetwaters Ziethen TSF, Champion in the 7 year-old yr old class at the FEI World Championships at Lion d’Angers in 2020. Abendtanz is a son of the S level show jumper Hirtentanz, and has a high quality dam as well. Amazing TSF successfully competed at M** level during her active career. The family has produced advanced level performance horses in all disciplines.
The foal’s dam Miss Minto xx (Missy) brings significant athleticism bred over generations, with every ancestor in the second and third generations (sires and dams) having lucrative racing records. She herself had a successful career on the track with $40k+ in winnings over 40 starts.
Missy was bred by Daniel T. O’Ryan and born in Maryland in 2010. Her sire Suave xx had a 27-7-6-2 record with earnings of $1,348,423. Foaled May 11, 2001 (KY), Suave xx was sired by the black-type winner AP Indy xx, with $3M in career earnings, who was in turn sired by Seattle Slew xx, the first undefeated American Triple Crown champion. Suave’s dam Urbane xx had 18 Starts, 8 Wins, 4 Places, and 4 Shows with career earnings of $1,018,568.
Missy’s dam Dirty Harryette xx had a 7-11-8 record with $170k+ in winnings over 50 starts. Her sire Unaccounted For xx had a 17-6-4-2 record with $1M in earnings over 17 starts. Dirty Harryette’s dam Clever Act xx had a significant record as well, with 32 Starts, 8 Wins, 6 Places, and 6 Shows; her career earnings were $288,899.

Breeding Notes
The foal has two lines to the legendary Trakehner stallion Kostolany with a blood percentage of 18.75%, both from the sire Abendtanz. This will bring a solid temperament, athleticism, and hardiness to the pedigree. Ibikus following at 7% will reinforce temperament and improve gaits while ensuring beautiful type, rideability, and hardiness (in fact, we believe the talent and rideability that characterize double-gold Olympic champion Dalera comes in part from linebreeding to Ibikus). Finally, five crosses to Maharadscha at 2% blood percentage add beauty, elegance, and rideability. Maharadscha was of great importance to the Trakehner breed in the post-World War II period, as a grandson of the significant Arabian stallion Fetysz ox. Maharadscha sired 11 graded sons and 82 studbook mares, including German Elite mare Abiza (dam of Abdullah) and Fawiza (dam of Falke and Fabian). The German Stallion Book lists the following comments: ‘Extraordinarily beautiful, expressive stallion with Arabian stamp, but in a large format. Very pretty face, much neck, thoroughly sufficient girth; the way of going is elastic and swinging; the stallion shows the best inclination for riding.” The foal’s thoroughbred heritage is anchored by famous black-type legends like Northern Dancer xx, Bold Ruler xx, Nasrullah xx, Nearco xx, and Native Dancer xx, ranging from 3% to 1% blood percentage, which we expect to greatly enhance the foal’s athleticism in the ring.
