Both Gabby’s sire and dam were bred as part of the restoration project for the Russian Warmblood, also known as the Orlov-Rostopchin. His sire Galileo is a stunning 17 h buckskin stallion who stood at stud at Solstice Farms for one season before being sold. Through his dam, Galileo inherited the kind temperament, rideability, and jumping talent prevalent in the Hanoverian G-line. Through his sire, Galileo combines two foundation stallions for the Russian Warmblood breed in the US: Gorhonik and the Elite-I imported Iskusnik. He also brings a solid dash of Akhal-Teke, Thoroughbred, and Arabian, with virtually no duplications in his pedigree in 9 generations.
His dam Kaia’s breeding is 50% Akhal-Teke, one of the world’s oldest breeds, originally from the deserts around Turkmenistan and now a keystone of Russian horse breeding. Kaia is bred to be an improver. Her Akhal-Teke heritage is combined with 25% Arabian blood as well as the best in Russian warmblood breeding, anchored by her damsire Iskusnik. Kaia therefore gives her offspring extraordinary endurance potential as well as great refinement.
Gabby does show this heritage, with a refined, elegant head, a lovely arched neck, and long graceful lines. He has smooth gaits, and since his birth has exhibited great balance and athleticism. His walk is elastic and exhibits marked overstride, his trot is still developing but shows potential when he collects, with medium knee action and good reach from behind. His canter is smooth, with ground-covering strides and good power from his hindquarters.
Gabby is expected to reach 16’2 h. He is slated for a career in eventing.

Breeding Notes
Though still growing, Gabby has correct conformation, with a strong foundation, uphill build, and long elegant lines. He has a high-set neck, good pillar of support, long sloping shoulders, medium-angled humerus, equal alignment between his ilium and femur sides, medium stifle placement, and very good alignment between his point of hip and the lumbosacral gap.
